Autrefois, c’était en décembre qu’on enregistrait le plus grand nombre de mortalités sur les routes du pays.Aujourd'hui, selon le Conseil Canadien ‘de la sécurité routière, décembre occupe la 7e place, et cette amélioration est due en grande partie, à la campagne d’un mois, intitulee,‘‘Les dangers des fetes’ qui est organisee annuellement par les corps policiers du pays.Cependant, le mois de décembre, occupe toujours la premiere place en ce qui concerne le nombre des accidents de circula tion.En décembre 1963, on a enregistre sur les ‘ routes et dans les rues du pays quelque 42,119 accidents a l’égard de 36,303, en 1962, ce qui représente une augmentation .Durant ce meme mois, en 1963, on a enregistré 340 mortalités de circulation a l’égard de 362, en 1962, ce qui représente une diminution, L’entrée en vigueur de la campagne des Corps Policiers du pays est marquée, a chaque année, par la semaine de la sécurité routiere qui se poursuit du ler au 7 décembre, sous les auspices du Conseil Canadien de la Sécurité Routiere.En prévision de cette campagne, M.W.B.Cummon , C.C., président remplaçant du Comité des lois et leur application du Conseil, et sous-procureur général de l’Ontario, a demandé au public automobiliste de collaborer pleinement avec la Police, Il a dit;
