[" Enterea according to Act of Parliament, in the Office of the Minister of Agriculture and Statistics.1888 CHERRIER\u2019S ' GUIDE TO THE LOCATION OF STREETS Giving the ward location, also number indices to Churches, Schools, Banks, Government and other Public Offices, Terraces and Chambers, City Hall, Police and Fire Stations, Charitable and Educational Institutions, Railway Offices, Clubs, Consulates, Newspaper Offices, Hotels, Quebec Exchange and Board of Trade, Telegraph Companies, Halls, Post Offices, Markets, Manufactures, &c.EXPI.ANATIONS : The chief object this Guide has inview is to show the location of each street, indicating also what other streets end on it, run from it or intersect it, with, whenever possible, the corner numbers where such streets end, begin or intersect.It will be noticed that the names of the streets are given in Alphabetical order indicating the course in which they run, according, as near as possible, to the points of the compass.All streets in Jacques-Cartier and St.Roch wards, running from the Cape to the.river St.Charles, that is from South to North, have odd numbers on the left or West side, even numbers on the right or East side ;
