by some of the might clerks the - hotels, either in the sheds directly back of the hardware establishment \u2018owned by Mr.Kaufman, or in W.West's storehouses.The alarm was immediately given but by the time the local brigade, together with those of the Anchor Knitting Company and the Jiisslssippi Iron Works, had their lines of hose laid, the flames had eaten their way through a mass of wooden outbuildings at the back of the business block, and from these spread into Mr.West's general store, the largest in the town.The fire then reached ;
