[" > =.ue.Cinquantenaire de la Ville de Chateauguay Le cinquantième anniversaire de la Ville de Châ- teauguay remonte en fait à l\u2019année 1913, quand le premier Conseil de la Ville de Châteauguay s'est réuni pour la première fois le quinze juin, à la suite d\u2019une demande au Gouvernement provincial sollicitant l'incorporation comme Ville le 21 décembre 1912.La pétition demandant le statut de Ville fut produite à Québec par une délégation de la municipalité de Château- guay alors existant et M.Fortunat Crepin qui plus tard, à deux reprises devait accéder à la mairie de la Ville de Châteauguay.Nous avons cru bon qu\u2019il serait intéressant de relater Fortunat Crepin, who during the last fifty years was Mayor of the Town of Chateauguay on two occasions was one of the delegates who in 1912 took a petition to Quebec asking for incorporation rights for the Town of Chateauguay.Mr.Crepin died several ycars ago at the age of 81.quelques faits historiques qui ont précédé cet événe-: ment majeur, et plusieurs citoyens nous ont facilité la tâche en compilant pour nous plusieurs textes pertinents à cet effet.Le comte Louis de IFrontenac de France vint au Canada à! titre de représentant du roi en 1672.C'était alors la Nouvelle-, France.En 1673, une seigneurie de six milles de large sur neuf de profond comprenant ;
