That he suggested, was “rubbing it in.” He exhorted his hearers to allow “no acei- dent of birth to enter into their calculations when casting their ballots.“I know 1 wasn't consulted,” hg said, “when T was born, so why pick on me if Pin Scotch.” He was accorded tumultuous applause at the end of his address.Mr.Crestohl, in his turn, said that St.Michael ward should send a rep- 1esentative to the City Hall who knows what the division needed.a candidate who would plead, demand or organize demonstrations so that these needs would be recognized and obtained. The ward was the only one out of the 35 comprising the City of Montreal without a playground, a skating rink, a public bath, a library and a ‘clinic, he pointed out.Taxes collected there had heen utilized for publie works in other sections of the city, the unemployed had nol heen given the opportunity to carn their daily bread. If, after the election, there were Lo be public works in St.Michael for the benefit of the jobless Mr.Crestohl said that he would see to it, if clected, that nae outside labor would he employed as long as one resident of the ward was without work. There is much to be done in the nexi two years, he uverred, for St.Michael ward must get what il did not obtain during the past 10 years, Today, instead of showing advancement, the district is two years further behind than it was two years ago.Dr.Max Wiseman and Mr.M.A.Leone acted as joint chairmen, and among other speakers were Sidney Greenberg, Louis Bloomfield, M, Ginsberg, Louis Benjamin and Adolph Gardner, K.C.* OUTREMONT PRESBYTER- | J IAN CHURCH NOTES | A very enjoyable evening was spent with the Young Peoples Society on Monday night. The Literary Committee took charge of the programme. There were several interesting individual and double acts put on by the following: Mrs.S.G.King, who sang; Messrs, S.G.King and H.Moore, in comie skits and Mr.John Rice who offered a monologue and a song. The second portion of the programme was given to a one act comedy cntitled, “Help Yourself.” The play, which had plenty of action and interest, called for five characters. These were portrayed by Misses Marjorie and Florence Bryson and Messrs.H.H.Thomson, Blake Sewell and John Rice.Mrs.II.H.Thomson, Miss Marjorie Bryson and Messrs.Ken Pickford, H.Moore, H.Thomson and Blake Sewell cach contributed turns marked by originality and humour. The master of ceremonies for the evening was Mr.S.G.King.At the Mid-Week service Wednesday at 8 o’clock, Mr.McLean will contribute the studies in the “Creed of a Christian!
