January 8, 1960 These program listings are supplied by the television ABC-TV and Sir Winston's Meméirs: Program will set up most complete visual record of modern history ever attemped A weekly, 30-minute television series based on six volumes of Sir Winston Churehill\u2019s memoirs, covering world history from 1919 onward, will be brought to the American television audience next fall by the ABC Television Network, it was announced by Thomas W.Moore, ABC-TV Vice President in Charge of Programming.The shos.will probably be seen locally on channel 8, Mt.Washington.\u201cThe program was acquired by ABC-TV from Screen Gems and Jack Le Vien, who - own the world television rights to the Churchill work.The production will be handléd by ABC in association with Mr.Le Vien.À representative of the Brit ish Broadcasting Corporation has arrived in New York to offer the cooperation of the BBC.The program will be based on the six Churchill volumes, \u201cThe Gathering Storm,\u201d \u201cTheir Finest Hour.\u201d \u201cThe Grand Alliance,\u201d \u201cThe Hinge of Fate,\u201d \u201cClosing the Ring\u201d and \u201cTriumph and Tragedy.\u201d \u201cThis program will constitute the mast complete visual record of modern history ever attempted,\u201d said Mr.Moore.\u201cHistorical footage will be gathered from every major * country in the wond.In addition, cameramen will be dispatched to the far corners of the earth to record interviews with the major personalities of our time, interviews that will give eyewitness accounts of the historical events depict- \u201c ed in the program.\u201d Among the world leaders to be interviewed for the ABC- TV series will be President | MacMurray, Adams in American Cowboy Fred: MacMurray, Edie Adams, Carol Burrett, Wally Cox and Hans Conried have signed to star in Max Lieb- man's premiere special of the season, \u201cThe American Cowboy,\u201d Wednesday, Feb.10 (10:00 -
