forgotten, but the review work and game brought back the knowledge quickly.he Jungle Dance of Baloo reminded each Cub of his promise to keep the Law that the Old Brown Bear taught and a Camp Fire "Children May Be Unable To See Royal Couple Westmount's Civil Defence Wardens would be quite willing ta turn out on October 29 to line the route of the Royal Couple on their way from the airport to the Windsor Hotel, Brig.DeLalanne, chief warden for Westmount told The Examiner.Unfortunately he thought that by the time the cavalcade reacheg Westmount it will be quite dark and consequently local schoolchildren will not have a very good opportunity of seeing Princess Elixabethy and Prince Philip.Brig.DeLalanne, who, begides being chief warden is also chaire man of the Westmount School Commission is quite disappointed that the children will not be able tox get a good view of the Royal visitors, particularly so since ‘it will not be possible to accommodate all of the local school pupils in Molson Stadium the following day.Had the route followed by King : George and Queen Mary in 1939 been chosen, Westmount school children would have been better looked after.; In the original route published, the royal party will come along Notre Dame de Grace Avenue, down Victoria to Sherbrooke and then easf to Peel.Brig.DeLalan- ne pointed out that the corner of Victoria and Sherbrooke might present a problem, especially as the rush hour for traffic occurs around 5 p.m., which is approximately the time set for the royal car to pass.Brig.DeLalanne hoped that the authorities in charge of arrangements for the city-wide tours on October 30 might make a slight change to include some part of Westmount in the itinerary. This would give local schoolchildren an ‘| opportunity to ‘see and cheer the Prince and Princess. As far as Civil Defence is concerned, Brig.DeLalanne said that this was one occasion on which the force could be of assistance. As all members are screened before being accepted in the civil defence organization this would relieve the authorities of additional work in.selecting men for security purposes and to line the route. It is understood that the West- mount City Council have drawn up plans for the proper protection of the Royal Couple and also to handle the crowds which will occupy places of vantage on the streets. The royal party will enter Westmount at Claremont Avenue and leave it at Atwater, according to published plans. Two Persons Injured In Accident Saturday Two persons were injured in a colli-~ 1 between two cars Saturday : front of 3215 St.Antoine Street. They were George Malone, of 01019 Charlevoix Street, who suffered lacerations, and Sybill Mary Corbett, of 2211 Marcil Avenue, who received a possible fracture of the skull. They were taken to the Western Hospital for treatment.Mr.Malone's car collided with a parked auto belonging to Tony Ciarallo, of 3215 St.Antoine (Civil Defence Start Training Early November Westmount Civil- Defence held the second first aid class on Wednesday evening at their heade quarters in the W.A.G., St.Cathe erine Street. The number attending the class is rather more than had been anticipated and it will be necessary to repeat the course just as soon as the present class graduates in order to take care of the many who wish to get first aid training. In fact Brig.DeLalanne said every warden will get some training in first aid.Wednesday nights will be devoted to the first aid training classes.- À training syllabus has "been drawn up ‘and will’ be submitted to the Civil Defence Committee for approval at their meeting nex$ Monday. The training course calls for 12 lectures and will take six weeks to complete, as two lectures of 45 to 50 minutes each will be given every training night. It is proposed to hold the training classes on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings of each week and the lectures will be so staggered, that if a warden misses one week it will be possible to catch up by attending two nights the following week, By utilizing three evenings per week it will be possible to finish the initial training course for all wardens before Christmas. The course will get underway, it is hoped, during the first week in November, Brig.DeLalanne stated.Lectures will cover a variety of subjects all of which will be necessary for the wardens to know.| Later a more advanced course will be arranged.Wardens registered to date number close to the two hundred mark.Until approval has been given by the Civil Defence Committee no definite date can be set for the commencement of the training courses.Approval is necessary as certain moneys will have to be spent to defray the cost of the initial training.HOUSE BROKEN INTO The home of “Bill” McLeod put the Flyers ahead early in the first quarter when he kicked a placement from the Warriors’ 20 yard line (score Lakeshore 3, Westmount 0.) In the closing stages of the first half “Eddie” McLeod shot over end for a Westmount major which he converted and the half time score read Westmount 6, Lakeshore 3.Jimmy Simpson booted three singles early in the third quarter.and at this part of the game- it | looked as if the Warriors were going to repeat their victory of the previous Saturday. Then * “Ron” Farrington, the Lakeshore quarterback, narrowed the gap with an unconverted major.West- mount was penalized for rough play and at this point of the contest played as if they lacked the “desire” to win and concentrated too much on “playing the man.” Farrington made yards to set up Latchmore’s game tying single, and kicked the winning tally himself with fifteen seconds to go.The Warriors missed the services of Ian “Beans” Hamilton, one of their star halfbacks, who was injured early in the contest when i%| he was tackled very heavily in Lakeshore paydirt territory.Westmount 12 - Eastward 0 Sunday, at Eastward Grounds, the young Warriors showed plenty count for Flyers, then moved his: team ahead when he scored a quarterback Harrison converted and before the =| half ended Geoff.Scott booted another single for Lakeshore. In the second half Jim Peters sewed up the game for Flyers when he ploughed through the Army line for a 35 yards touchdown. The convert failed and that closed the scoring for Lakeshore. In the final quarter R.M.R.put on an all out drive but it fell short.Mike Maruska kicked a single, made a touchdown pass to Arnie Chaikin and booted a convert. The last play of the game was packed with excitement, Johnny Kay returned a Lakeshore kick and Dave Binmore booted the fumbled ball over the goal line and recovered. The play was called back however by Referee Purdie as Army had not given yards to the receiver on the return, This was a tough i decision for Army to take as it | meant the game and league points.Football Standings BIG FOUR P.W.L.F.A.Pu.Hamilton .8 5 8152 73.14 tawa “ws.8 5 3136121 1 onto .7-3 4 63103 $ Alouettes.7 2 § T0143 WESTERN CANADA.UNION P.W.L.F.A:Pte Saskatchewan 12 8 4 241 170 16° Edmonton .42 7 § 250218 1.Winnipes a.12- 6 4.254 275 Calgary 12 3 9161243" € LOE.ASP, 11881 1225 -6 18 159 for 4 points.)
