Famous Canadian Garrison Choir; Well Known Runner, mm McGILL AND ITS MUSICAL PRODIGIES\u2014Miss Ellen Ballon, of Montreal, who, at the age of nine, is one of the most remarkable performers on the pianoforte that the world has yet seen.After spending the summer in Montreal she left two weeks ago for New York, where she has since resumed her studies under A Gifted Musical Trio.LLEN BALLON, Canada\u2019s child E pianiste, at the age of three, showed marked musical talent, and her inclinations were quite evident.Very often she would be seen at the piano attempting to play with one finger and pick out the melodies that other members of the family were singing.On March 27th, 1904, she was brought to the attention of Miss Lichtenstein, at the McGill Conservatorium of Music, who at once recognized the wonderful possibilities in the little tot.Slowly and playfully her ear was developed in those precious qualities: \u201cthe sense of the imitation of tones\u201d and \u201cthe memory of tones,\u201d and she exhibited a remarkable sagacity, a truly rare delicacy of hearing.After receiving a scholarship at the McGill University Conservatorium, she took daily lessons there, and soon gained such dexterity that she astonished all who heard her.In general, the little \u201cWunderkin- ders\u201d are hectic blossoms of a hothouse, and do not enjoy long careers, for they are products of unnatural forcing.Ellen has the love of a child for play and outdoor exercise.There is no sign of over-taxation.Nature has endowed her with a great many good things;
