Join us in our studio on Saturday July 16 or July 23 at 8 p.m.or both! 676 Schweizer, Sutton, Quebec, JOE 2K0.Limited space; for reservations call: 450 538-1816 or info@thetapdancer.com.5 la Launch of the 2016 awareness campaign In Brome-Missisquoi, share the road and be courteous Nathalie Grimard Urban Planner and Asst.Director Land Management Department The MRC Brome-Missisquoi, the Sûreté du Québec\u2019s Brome-Missisquoi detachment and the Bromont police department are teaming up again this year to create awareness among the various road users to be courteous and safely share the road in Brome-Missisquoi.Every year, country roads in the region are increasingly popular routes used by cyclists, both local and from outside the area.The interest in using the roads generates more traffic, and as a result cyclists and motor-vehicle drivers have to co-exist on the road network.The third phase of this awareness campaign is aimed at cyclists, motorists and heavy vehicle drivers.This year, we are adding a new segment regarding awareness of sharing the road among heavy vehicles and cyclists.As part of the campaign, the police and highway controllers will be handing out reminder leaflets to heavy vehicle drivers in an effort to prevent the risk of accidents on our roads.Meanwhile, the Saint-Jean highway control department will also be taking part in some events in our region to make road users aware of the reality of truckers, among others, in terms of blind spots surrounding their trucks.Over the next few months, a communications plan will be put forward in Brome-Missisquoi, in various media outlets.In the last two years, billboards aimed at motorists and cyclists have been set up in many places throughout the MRC territory.The billboards will continue to be there this year.In addition, banners have been made and they will be loaned for various campaign-related events.This summer, have some wonderful outings in Brome-Missisquoi, and share the road!
