meeting.Mr.Fraser made an interesting address giving the full particulars of the history, object and workings of the Provincial Association, showing the various ways in which manufacturers can be of assistance to each other il they only have propelr organization.Amongst other things, he showed the great injustice to Ontario manufacturers which the proposed Montreal Exhibition contemplates, as no Ontario manufacturer was willing to send his goods down to Montreal to undergo examination as to whether they are good enough to send to the Centennial Exhibition. After some remarks from Mr Smith, and Mr.Chaplain, who declared they would not submit their claims to the Montreal show, as to whether they should prepare articles for the Centennial Exhibition, the following resolution was carried unanimously : Moved by W.Chaplain, seconded by R.H.Smith, \u201c That the proposal that all goods intended for exhibition at Philadelnhia must be first exhibited at Montreal, would tend to destroy any chance of such goods having a fair chance at the Philadelphia Exhibition, as the extra handling and exposure of said goods, would spoil their appearance ; and that such proposal, if insisted on, must tend to stop many intending exhibitors.\u201d FROM B SOCKVI I LF.Sentenced to Death.Brockvxlle, Ont.March 30, The trial of Greaves and Dr.Sparham, for abortion, which has been proceeding for three
