Titre :
Quebec morning chronicle
La ligne éditoriale du journal est définie comme suit : « [.] in the management of The Morning Chronicle we shall, therefore, begin by simply declaring, that, as we glory in our connexion with the British Empire, it will be our undeviating aim and unremitting endeavour, to create and foster a cordial attachment to those time-honoured institutions which have made her so illustrious in the annals of the world ». (May 18, 1847, p. 2)

[Traduction]
Voici les différents titres que le Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph a connus depuis ses débuts : Disponibles en ligne : The Morning Chronicle (Jan. 1847 - Nov. 1850) The Morning Chronicle and Commercial and Shipping, 1850-1888 The Morning Chronicle (Feb. 1888 - May 1888) The Quebec Morning Chronicle, 1888-1898 The Quebec Chronicle, 1898-1924 Non disponible en ligne : The Chronicle Telegraph (1925-1934) The Québec Chronicle-Telegraph (1934 à ce jour)

Canada^ and it is a surprising thing that they all came to the front, with their murderous instincts strongly developed, at abbut the same time.It is a satisfaction that their punishment will not bo light. The Court has pronounced severely in two of the throe cases named here.In the course of a few days, the London rough will be placed on his trial, when it is to be hoped that his just deserts will be raeted out to him.Canada cannot afford to nurture this dangerous class in our population, and swift, condign punishment must await every malefactor, who shoots down, or stabs to death, his fellow man.The sad feature in the case, however, is this.A valuable and honorable life is exchanged for a vicious and worthless life.la ooawqnsass of alterations to be made to my premia^ the whole of my stock consisting of Overcoatings, Saltings, iReady-mnde Clothing, -AND- ¦ I \u2022\t| We have heard on what purports to be Gents FurnisningSi good authority, that owing to an error on *\tthe other side of the Atlantic, the ir jn WILL B'd DISPOSED OF AT ' castings for the new hotel have not yet arrived.Much of the iron work has come to hand, but it is not available for immediate use, being intended for the higher stories of the building. This will be the means, if true, of postponing the date of the opening of our new palace hostelry, to far beyond the time specified, and all our citizens, as well as the general travelling public will regret to hoar this.Work appeared to be proceeding very nicely,-and it is a pity that there is a prospect of its Tlio United Fire Insurance Go.(Ltd.) I being discontinued for a time , Certainly, the proprietors seem to have dot'ie all in their power to hasten the completion of the edifice, in which all our people take so much pride, and they must be as greatly disappointed as we are, ourselves. The old atone, with the gilt Maltese Cross, about which quite a con trovarsy arose between Messrs.Roy and Chambers, some years ago, has been re placed in the wall near the carriage way of the new building. It was probably worth while to preserve this ancient relic, but the place selected for it, is not to ourmind the best locality for it.It certainly detracts from the beauty and symmetry of the architecture. But we presume, it had to be put somewhere, and so it has been made to uglify, what was before its advent, a pretty bit of stone
