Titre :
Morning chronicle and commercial and shipping gazette
La ligne éditoriale du journal est définie comme suit : « [.] in the management of The Morning Chronicle we shall, therefore, begin by simply declaring, that, as we glory in our connexion with the British Empire, it will be our undeviating aim and unremitting endeavour, to create and foster a cordial attachment to those time-honoured institutions which have made her so illustrious in the annals of the world ». (May 18, 1847, p. 2)

[Traduction]
Voici les différents titres que le Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph a connus depuis ses débuts : Disponibles en ligne : The Morning Chronicle (Jan. 1847 - Nov. 1850) The Morning Chronicle and Commercial and Shipping, 1850-1888 The Morning Chronicle (Feb. 1888 - May 1888) The Quebec Morning Chronicle, 1888-1898 The Quebec Chronicle, 1898-1924 Non disponible en ligne : The Chronicle Telegraph (1925-1934) The Québec Chronicle-Telegraph (1934 à ce jour)

there are several ways of finding out whether he is tit to be allowed to pract.ce that profesnion during his profe si mat training.The above is only a rugpeation, but I would not look on its adoption as the miet satisfactory solution of the question.W e at Lennoxville agree with Sir VVm DxWSin in hia contention that the degree itself should bo a autficient warrant of admission to the study of any profession.Dr.ilenektr has already used this argument again and again, and if it be ointenoelas an objection that degrees are granted enn tiy on examination of the students ot a college by their own professer*, I, t* r one, would be glad to we’como tome compte-i henuve scheme whereby a degree in arts should only be obtainable aftii-s B Bruuha'l.Mr H L Bland, Mi-i>-pard.Mr W K Stay vesant, Mr A B Smalley, Mr J N William», Mr A H White and manservant, Mr W Whitlock.Collision—London, DecHi—B»*k “Natant,” Porter, while being towed to her dock at Cardiff f om Bristol, was damagtd on her statbaard quarter by colliding with the British bark ‘ Sea#ard,” Capt Walsh, from Newport, Nov W fer Buenos Ayres.The collision was caused bv tho breaking (f the hawser with w hich the ‘ Natant” was being towed.The “Seaward” returned to Cardiff.She had one man injured.EtUTH—Milwaukee, Dec.17—It is feared at Two Rivers, Wis., that the fishing tug “Edith” has gone down with her crew cf six men.Grounded—Baltimore, l)ej.16—Steamer "Assyrian” which sailed hence Wednesday fur Liverpool, grounded same evening in Craighill channel.She was floated at 8.30 yesterday morning with the arsLtance of four tugs, and proceeded on her voyage.Heavy Weather—Halifax, Dec.16—The German steamer “Hatis,” Captain Hinsch, from Hamburg for Boston, which arrived today fur coal, reports having exjierienced very heavy weather.All the sailing vessels arm ing here from the West Indies have suffered i evereiy from the effects of recent hurricanes.Schooner “ you” (Br), Peters from St.Johns, Porto Rico, expaiienced a terrific storm November 30 aud December 1 from NXK, baiometer 29 and falling.The vessel labored be.ni'y and shipped large quantities of water.About 2.00 a.m.on the 1st the jibbor.m was carried away, and a wave of unusual size deluged the ship and »wapt away the captain a"d two seamen — William StiiLh aud Stephen Waterman.Waterman was the only one of the time who could swim, but he waa the on'y one who was drowned.The captain and Smith, af er being in the water eome time sneereded in gutting on board the vessel airain.A bag was made, blind with cod and licseed oils, and Imag ov^r the starboard rail, and the huge wa'es began to subside.The bag was kept out for twenty-four hours, and in that time the gale had pretty well abated.-Steamer “ Frilish Q-.-een," which arrived here from London to-day, had a terrific uassvge, encountering sir.>ng pa’es all the way acrors.Last f-'u day a gale, with a very high sea.was experienced;
