Titre :
Morning chronicle and commercial and shipping gazette
La ligne éditoriale du journal est définie comme suit : « [.] in the management of The Morning Chronicle we shall, therefore, begin by simply declaring, that, as we glory in our connexion with the British Empire, it will be our undeviating aim and unremitting endeavour, to create and foster a cordial attachment to those time-honoured institutions which have made her so illustrious in the annals of the world ». (May 18, 1847, p. 2)

[Traduction]
Voici les différents titres que le Quebec Chronicle-Telegraph a connus depuis ses débuts : Disponibles en ligne : The Morning Chronicle (Jan. 1847 - Nov. 1850) The Morning Chronicle and Commercial and Shipping, 1850-1888 The Morning Chronicle (Feb. 1888 - May 1888) The Quebec Morning Chronicle, 1888-1898 The Quebec Chronicle, 1898-1924 Non disponible en ligne : The Chronicle Telegraph (1925-1934) The Québec Chronicle-Telegraph (1934 à ce jour)

Hon.Mr.HOLTON denied that there had been any advice or connivance on his part or on tbe part of the Government.Neither be nor any of his colleagues had originated the motion. He called upon the hon.member for Chicoutimi, who, be wai sure, would corroborate hia (Mr.Holton’s) statement., Mr.PRICE said that the motion had been pnt into his bands by some friends outside. He bad shewn it to the Hon.Finance Minister, and it bad baea amended.By tba advice of tbe hon.gentleman, he did not bring it forward then, on account of the absence of the hon.member for Sherbrooke. He was nnder-stood, however, to say that there hud been no previous arrangement, and no connivance with the Government on this question.TGe hon.gentleman then went on to remark that it was a simple matter of justice that this cUim, which had lain over so long, should be taken up and settled without nuy tunber delay.Hon.Mr.HOLTON claimed that the explanation of the bonjnember for Chicoutimi hud entirely exonerated him of the charge of connivance, made by the hon.member for Bona venture; and he called up .n the latter, if be had any gentlemanly demeanor, to retract the assertion he bad made.Mr.ROBITAILLE, on the other band, contended that bis statement had burn fully sustained by the explanation Mr.Price had given.Tbe “connivance” and ‘'advice' charged against the Finahee Minister wus established iu a manner which could not be controverted. He thought the Fii.ancc MlnUrir was the very last bon.gentleman in this House who should have attempted to Iheture nnoilu-r hon.gentleman on his conduct. He (*.lr.Robitaillo) would certainly like to hear the Hon.Finance Minister’s definition of gentlemanly behavior.(Hear, hear, and cheers.)
