Coaticook has two cases of smallpox. The cases were not reported to the health authorities, and so it is quite possible that others may have been exposed to the disease.Alderman McCurdy, however, as chairman of the sanitary committee, is taking the matter in hand, and hopes by vigorous measures to prevent a further spread of the disease.A circular is being issued, and will be put into he hands of all householders, calling their attention to a by-law which was passed last summer making vaccination and revaccination compulsory upon all persons residing in the town of Coaticook. There were no cases of smallpox in the town then and the by-law was not vigorously enforced. Now the circular states that it has become imperative to enforce the law and all residents are advised to comply with the law and get vaccinated within the next ten days.Otherwise persons who have not had small pox, or been at least .twice unsuccessful vaccinated within a month, or who are possessed of a certificate from a reputable physician stating that they are physically _ unfit to he vaccinated, will be liable to a fine. The council does not in-t;nd that anyone will be in a positi0n to plead poverty as a reason for not complying with the law.Vaccination can be secured at the town\u2019s expense. It is only necessary for the person desiring it at the expense of the town to go to the alderman of his ward who will give him an order on his family physician to vaccinate him without expense. While it is not likely that many people would undertake to vaccinate themselves the circular gives instructions in this regard. After reading them one is forced to the option that he would have earned his money in trying to save it.DULY NEWS SPECIALS FROM ALL PARTS OF THE EASTERN SKATING AT KNOWLTON.Knowlton,
