Andrew Simon said in a telephone interview.“We've had to put it on ice — no selection process can go on now." Opening ceremonies for the new retransmitters in Fleurimont and Thetford Mines — both on the air since the summer — will be delayed as well until after CBC reporters return to work, Simon said.“More and more I’m beginning to think we 11 wait until Radio Week ¦> cup (125 ml.) egg white into mixture to loosen it up.Fold in remaining egg whites carefully until no streaks of white remain.Spoon mixture into ungreased 6 cup ( 1.5 L.) souffle or straight-side baking dish.Bake in 325-degree F.(160-degree C.) oven for 1 hour 10 minutes or until golden and puffy.Serve at once.Makes 4 to 6 ser v i ngs.$ VALUE at mETRO 526 SUD Cowansville WALLPAPER SALE! on discontinued lines.) Dear Ann Landers: I work as a waitress in a nice restaurant. My very steady boyfriend comes in for lunch almost every day and sometimes for supper. The question: Should he leave a tip or not?Actually, I am embarrassed to take his money and have asked him several times not to leave any.He says I am entitled to a tip because I give him great service. Also, he doesn't want to look like a cheapskate in the eyes of the other waitresses or the people he sometimes brings in as guests.I told him I was writing to Ann Landers, and he said, “She is a sharp apple.1 will go with her decision.” What is it?Ella In Augusta Dear Ella : The “sharp apple” says you should accept tips graciously — then squirrel away the money and buy Mr.Wonderful a gift for his birthday or Christmas, whichever comes first.Retreats such as St-Benoit du Lac offer a chance to escape from the hectic city.Lenn groups present production LENNOXVILLE -MUSIC MACHINE, a family musical based on the popular record of the Dallas, San Diego and Oakland get ready for the National Football League conference finals this Sunday, storms brewed in other cities. In Houston, Oiler running back Earl Campbell, who earned a reported $500,000 under a renegotiated contract this season, has asked new Oiler general manager Ladd Herzeg to renegotiate his six-year pact.Herzeg says no under any circumstances. The circumstances could lead to a pay-me-or-trade-me demand, says to Campbell’s agent Witt Stewart.Campbell, who won his third straight National Football League rushing title this season, has been unavailable for comment since making the demand to Herzeg Monday.NHL: Hobs' win string reaches six “We believe Earl has been fairly compensated,” Herzeg said, "We renegotiated a six-year deal for him last year in good faith and expect him to honor his contract.” Campbell’s action was believed connected with Bum Phillips’s firing last week as head coach and general manager of the Oilers.Campbell made his demands Monday after having lunch with Phillips Houston gave Campbell a new contract in February for a reported $3 million over six years.Campbell has gained 1,450,1.697 and 1,934 yards in each of his three seasons as a pro Alter renegotiating Campbell’s contract last year, the Oilers announced a policy of not renegotiating any more player contracts.DETROIT (AP) - Bob Gainey scored a power-play goal at 7:34 to start a three-goal first period and lead Montreal Canadiens to a 6-2 National Hockey League romp Tuesday night over Detroit Red Wings The victory was the sixth straight for the Canadiens, with a 23-13-4 won-lost-tied record.Montreal has lost only once in its last 12 games.Detroit dropped to 10-21-8 despite a two-goal effort by defenceman Reed Larson.Montreal defenceman Gaston Gingras cut loose a hard 30-footer which Gainey tipped past Detroit goalie Gilles Gilbert with the Red Wings’ Dennis Polonich in the penalty box.Rejean Houle rifled a shot under Gilbert’s glove hand from the left point at 9:20 and Doug Jarvis gave Montreal a 3-0 lead on a feed from behind the net by Chris Nilan 1:21 later. At that point, the Canadiens had one more goal than the Red Wings had shots and a chorus of boos flooded Joe Louis Arena.Montreal outshot Detroit 16-5 in the first period.Yvonne Lambert scored for Montreal at 2:29 of the second period before Larson came back for a pair of Campbell’s demands could have far-reaching complications for the Oilers.All-pro offensive tackle Leon Gray will be in the option year of his contract and has said he wants a long-term contract.Strong safety Vernon Perry, a second-year standout after playing with Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, also has said he wants to renegotiate. The Oilers have been criticized for their use of Campbell’s talents.Phillips was alternately accused of using Campbell too much and then not enough. The uneasy truce that had existed since Phillips was dismissed ended Tuesday when Herzeg accused him of tampering with the team’s assistant coaches.Herzeg said he has learned Phillips will be named head coach at New Sport shorts MONTREAL (CP) — Los Angeles Kings centre Marcel Dionne, who has more points than any National Hockey League player over the last 10 seasons, is about to reach another scoring milestone. When the 29-year-old native of Drummondville, Que., faces Hartford Whalers in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, he will be seeking to become the 13th player in NHL history to accumulate 1,000 career points.More importantly, Dionne, who currently has 998 points, including 411 goals, would set a record for reaching the milestone in the fewest number of games.Dionne has appeared in 739 games, while Phil Esposito, then of Boston Bruins, set the old mark on Feb.8, 1975, by reaching the 1,000-point plateau in his 823rd career game Dionne’s moment of glory could be brief, however, be cause right winger Guy Lafleur of Montreal Canadiens needs only 21 points to hit the 1,000 mark • MONTREAL (CP) — Brian O’Neill, executive vice-president of the National Hockey league, said he plans to meet Wednesday with Boston Bruins general manager and interim coach Harry Sinden to discuss the brawl in which his club was involved last Saturday night.Seven members of the Bruins were ejected during the game against Colorado Rockies, which saw the officials hand out 287 minutes in penalties. The Bruins were assessed $1.8(X> in automatic fines as well as a $1,000 fine because their player was the first one off the bench during the brawl. The Rockies were fined $1,700 • MONTREAL (CP) — Right winger Bobby Schmautz ut Vancouver Canucks has been suspended for three games and forward Pat Hughes of Pittsburgh Penguins was dealt a two-game suspension where, due to the very high ceiling of the building developed accoustic problems. But, now, the voice from the pulpit can be heard distinctly through two loudspeakers, but should there be present those with impaired hearing, several pews have been arranged that the individual needs of the worshippers will be adequately served by ear phones. This indeed is a far throw from the days of the first adherents of Sf Andrew’s assembled to worship seated on crude planks propped up on stones or blocks of wood, and with only one stove in the centre of the building with a hole in the roof above it to remove the smoke, so we can easily see that the loyalty and devotion of the first pioneers of the church made this last innovation possible, and that the faith of our fathers remain still alive and vibrant in this congregation.Mr.Honore Gingras has once more gone to Haiti for the winter months in hopes that his rheumatism will remain there as a landed immigrant when he returns to Inverness in
