20 cents * i The regional office of the French language in Hull has asked us to publish \u201cimmediately\u201d their latest edict.Their wish is to inform the owners and managers of commercial establishments in the region that it is forbidden to use a bilingual firm name in Quebec.Proprietors and managers of all business establishments in the region who now have a bilingual name should have removed the English version by August 26th, 1977, according to André Coté, spokesman for the Office de la langue française.Furthermore, states Coté, the names of commercial establishments which are not now French should be frenchifled before December 31, 1980.So in effect what Mr Coté is telling us is that if your company name is bilingual you should have dropped the English part a year ago but if it is English you have more than two years more to change it.For further clarification you might wish to call collect to Mr André Coté at 770-7713.î .v; r VL jî i S^i!
