the past several years there have been so many meetings of groups and organizations and \"common fronts\u201d in Hull that we understandably wondered what was the use of them all.We floundered around and the ones think like you that long before I was elected, the Quebec Government formed 10 administrative reions in the Province; we appen to be region No 7 which includes four counties Pontiac, Hull, Gatineau and Papineau.Hull being the centre of the four, was chosen the location for their Governmental office of all the different departments with a director in each department and for your information some of those directors have been there for the past fifteen years.Ninty percent of those directors and assistants don't come from Hull.You mention you ran in a convention in Bryson once, shocked when I saw the announcement and could hardly believe that this could ha in Shawville.The last few years I've been in the habit of going East at fair time to visit with my brother Fred and other relations and of course, attending the Fair.But if the last day is on Sunday well I just won't he going this year.The last 2 years at our fair here we have been useing Sunday in this way.We have a one day fair usually held on the 3rd or 4th Mon.in July to avoid clashing with otner fairs Soutn Sask.n, too, there were other people who on the street, in an informal \u2022 moment, would remark on for the Shawville Fair being held over until Sunday.There are so many of us who are away from Shawville and Shawville Fair is the one time of the year we meet* so many of our old and precious fristol Corners.For a small place it had modern facilities like singing and sewing schools.In due course Mrs Hammond married a Mr MacDonald whose home was close to what is known as the Brick Church.A Mr McNeil farmed it some years and for years it was known as the MacDonald home.He was a kind and loving husband, he died the funeral procession was the largest ever known in that locality.Another notable character was Torn Black from Silver Creek.The remains of the old home can be seen in the hollow near the creek.He was inclined to boast about his strength.One of the merchants, to bluff him, it is impossible.With the Fair be held on Sunday after 1 pm, at least Bob and I and our 13 yr old could go Sunday ana the children ( grown up now) could go Saturday.So many others are in a similar position.Shift work- owning their own business, etc.Why not Sunday?What is the difference having Sunday fair day than a Ball game\u2014 Hockey Game Swimming ( not usually in Fairtime) Golf and so many other activities that 75% of the people do on Sunday in this day and age.What better feeling is there than meeting and talking with these people we all miss and DO think of so often during the rest of the year?I do think most of the exhibitors would be happy that we out-of-towners wno cannot get there until late Saturday would be able to see the exhibits instead of empty barns and halls.We would
